RICHMOND, Ky. - Eastern Kentucky University cross country runners James Mutuse and Jenni Brown have been selected by the Ohio Valley Conference as Men's and Women's OVC Cross Country Runners of the Week, respectively.

Mutuse, a sophomore from Nairobi, Kenya, won his first collegiate meet last Saturday in helping Eastern Kentucky to the team title in the Eastern Kentucky Invitational held on the Arlington Golf Course. He finished the 8,000-meter course in 25:05, eight seconds ahead of teammate Mohammed Khayr.

Brown, who shared her award as Co-OVC Runner of the Week, with Tammy Wenkel of Southeast Missouri won the individual title in the women's portion of the Eastern Kentucky Invitational as she came home in 17:58.0 over the 5,000-meter course. Brown is a senior from Salem, OH.

Both Eastern Kentucky cross country teams are in action Saturday in Bloomington, IN, in the Indiana University Invitational.
