Tim Moore has been a long time assistant track and field coach at Eastern Kentucky University and has been an integral part of the program’s success over the years,“Coach Erdmann and I have been together throughout and I think we have helped improve EKU’s recognition across the country in track and field and cross country,” said Moore.  “Our main focus is graduating our student-athletes and providing them with the best competition we can to make them the best they can be.  The support we get from our strong alumni base plays a major role in what we are able to accomplish.”

A graduate of Berea College in Berea, Kentucky, Moore competed in the high jump at Berea and spent one season on the basketball team under head coach Roland Weirwillie.  After graduating with an undergraduate degree in Physical Education, Moore began his coaching career on the high school level at Lexington Sayre High School in Lexington, Kentucky, where he served as the head basketball coach and track and field/cross country coach.  At Sayre he had a couple of high school state champions in the 100 meters and 110 meter hurdles.

After coaching at Sayre, during which time he earned his master’s degree in Physical Education from EKU.  Moore moved into the college coaching ranks by accepting the men’s track and field head coaching position at Berea College.  He also served one year as an assistant men’s basketball coach during his stay at Berea.  Moore coached several national qualifiers during this time at Berea before moving on to Eastern Kentucky.

Moore’s duties at Eastern Kentucky are numerous.  He works with the hurdlers, sprinters and field event student-athletes for both the men’s and women’s programs.  He also coordinates all aspects of recruiting the track and cross country programs, along with various administrative duties for both programs.

Moore was selected to coach the South Women’s Tem at the 1991 United States Olympic Festival held in Los Angeles, California.  He has been appointed as Junior Coordinator of the USA Track and Field Hurdle Development Committee.  He has also been selected as women’s track and field coordinator by the Kentucky Association of USA Track and Field.

He has written several articles on motivation and track and field technique.  He has also participated in several elite hurdle coach’s summits and a women’s development summit at the United States Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado.  Moore coached former Eastern Kentucky University’s All-American Jackie Humphrey at the Seoul Olympics in Seoul, South Korea, traveling with the United States Olympic Team.

Moore keeps busy by contributing to clinics across the country, while serving on the USA Track and Field hurdle development committees.  He has also taught academic orientation classes during his tenure at Eastern Kentucky University.
