Students wishing to participate in Division I sports must first be certified by the NCAA Clearinghouse. Student athletes should start the certification process early, usually by the end of their junior year. The documents that the Clearinghouse needs are as follows:

1. A completed and signed Student Release Form (which can be secured from your high school counselor). It must be sent to the Clearinghouse along with the initial eligibility certification fee payment of $25.00).
2. An official high school transcript.
3. Your ACT and/or SAT scores. (At the time of taking the test, fill in Code 9999 which will indicate to the testing authority to send scores to NCAA Clearinghouse).
4. Beginning August 1, 1996 you must meet the minimum requirements.

Division I Requirements

If you wish to participate in your freshman year in a Division I Institution you are required to:

1. Graduate from high school;
2. Successfully complete a core curriculum of at least fourteen academic courses. This core curriculum includes at least four years in English; two years in Mathematics, (Algebra I or higher); two years in Social Sciences, two years in Natural or Physical Sciences (including at least one laboratory class); two additional years in English, Mathematics, or Natural or Physical Science; and one additional year English, Mathematics, or Natural/Physical Science courses; three years of additional courses (from any area above of foreign language, nondoctrinal religion/philosophy, computer science).
3. Freshmen may establish eligibility using the following eligibility index:
